Hi all, we're new here and wanted to know if anyone else that filed
form I485 was asked to submit additional evidence? We just received an
email from the INS saying they sent out a letter today asking for
more evidence. I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything
specific on it. Is this a normal procedure? Also, does EVERYONE have a
lawyer? We don't.
Thanks, Paul and Melanie

You don't need a lawyer. I did everything myself, however, you have to
keep up to date with immigration procuedures and follow it. Without
using a laywer you can cut your cost in half or even less.

Well, call me a bluff old traditionalist, but this is what I would do:
1. Wait until I recevied the letter that asks for more evidence.
2. Provide the evidence.

Did you include your medical with your filing? Or, if adjusting from a
K-1, the medical I-693 is a popular RFE/Request For Evidence these
days.
It could be any number of things; but it means you made a
mistake/missed something or they lost it :) When you get the letter,
send what they request.
Not everyone uses a lawyer.
