Partner Migration
A partner for the purposes of migration falls into one of the following categories:

Spouse - The husband, wife or de facto partner of your sponsor and your dependents including children.

Prospective Spouse (Fiance) - you must have met your sponsor and intend to marry him/her in Australia.

Interdependent Partner - you and your sponsor must be at least 18 years of age and have a genuine and ongoing relationship and plan to live together in Australia.
General Skilled Migration
In order to be successful, you will need to have post-secondary qualifications and experience in one of the occupations gazetted by the Australian Government, be under 45 years of age when you apply and have 'vocational-level' English (a level necessary to practice your occupation).

Your chances of success may be improved if you have a relative, that is, a sibling, uncle, aunt, parent, cousin, grand-parent or self supporting child to sponsor you or you intend to live in a designated area of Australia. Skilled migration also applies to New Zealand citizens and certain overseas students in Australia.

Australia Employer Sponsored Immigration Visas Australia Parent Immigration Visas
Employer Sponsored Migration
If you wish to migrate to fill a job that cannot be filled from the Australian labour market and you have an Australian employer willing to sponsor you, or you have been nominated under a Labour Agreement or a Regional Headquarters Agreement, you should select this option.

If you wish to migrate on the basis of your skills but do not have an Australian employer who can sponsor you, you should select General Skilled Migration.
Parent Migration
If you are living outside of Australian and you are the Parent of your sponsor, you should select this option. You must have at least as many children living permanently in Australia as living outside Australia, or have more children living permanently in Australian than in any other single country.

You may also choose this option if you are in Australia and are an Aged parent of your nominator and you have at least as many children living permanently in Australia as living outside Australia.

Business Skills Migration
If you wish to migrate to, or obtain permanent residence in, Australia on the basis of your business track record, either overseas or in Australia, then you should choose this option. You must have experience in owning and managing a business or investment portfolio, or be a senior executive in a major corporation.

You will be expected to own or part-own and manage a business in Australia, or make a designated investment.

Australia Child Immigration Visas

Child Migration
Dependent children under 18 must not be engaged or have a spouse. If your dependent child is over the age of 24, they cannot apply under this category unless they are dependent on you because of a disability. Dependent children aged 18 or over must never have had a spouse or be engaged to be married. In addition, they must be a full-time student and not be employed unless they are dependent on you because of a disability. Orphan relatives must not have a spouse, must be under 18 at the time they apply, and not have a parent able to care for them.

Australia Family Immigration Visas

Other Family Migration

Carer - Your sponsor or a member of your sponsor's family needs help with daily living because of a medical condition and cannot get that help from any family, welfare, hospital, nursing or community services in Australia and you are a relative who is willing and able to provide that help. Your sponsor or the member of your sponsors family that needs help will need to undergo a medical assessment Health Services Australia.

Age Dependent Relative - You must be of Australian pensionable age and have been dependent on your sponsor for at least the previous three years.

Remaining Relative - You must be your sponsors brother, sister or child (or step-relative to the same degree) living outside Australia.
Special Migration
If you believe you may be eligible under one of the following categories, you may choose this option.

Special Eligibility - Migrant
You must be a former Australian permanent resident living outside Australia and either have spent at least 9 or your first 18 years in Australia and wish to resettle in Australia.

Or you have at any time prior to 19/01/1981 completed 3 months service in the Australian Armed Forces.

Residence - Close Ties
You must be living in Australia and have either spent at least 9 of your first 18 years in Australia as a permanent resident - you must have maintained close links to Australia.

Or you have at any time prior to 19/01/1981 completed 3 months service in the Australian Armed Forces;

Or you have spent your formative years as a child in Australia;

Or you last entered Australia before 01/01/1975;

Or you arrived in Australia as a minor before September 1994, became unlawful before turning 18 and have spent most of your formative years in Australia.

Prospective Marriage Spouse
You must be the holder of a prospective marriage visa which you applied for before 1st November 1996. You must have married your spouse in Australia and are now applying for a permanent visa.

Distinguished Talent
You have an outstanding record of achievement in an occupation or arts or sports and you are either in or outside Australia.

You must be nominated by an Australian organisation or an Australian citizen or permanent resident with national standing in the same field or sport.

You must show you will be an asset to the Australian community and show that you are still prominent in the arts or sports.
